Holiday Deviled Eggs

Holiday Deviled Eggs

  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika for dusting
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoons cooked and crumbled turkey bacon
  • Small sprigs of fresh dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a large saucepan and cover them with water by at least an inch. Bring the water to a full rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pan with a lid, and let the eggs sit for exactly 10 to 12 minutes. Immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process and ensure easy peeling.
  2. Gently tap the cooled eggs to crack the shells and peel them carefully under cold running water. Pat the eggs dry with a paper towel. Slice each egg in half lengthwise using a sharp knife. Gently remove the yolks and place them into a medium mixing bowl, setting the whites aside on a serving plate or a specialized egg tray.
  3. Use a fork to mash the egg yolks until they are fine and crumbly. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir vigorously or use a small whisk until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Taste the filling and adjust the seasoning if you prefer more salt or a bit more tang from the mustard.
  4. For a professional look, spoon the yolk mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. If you do not have a piping bag, a plastic storage bag with the corner snipped off works perfectly. Pipe the filling generously into the hollow of each egg white, mounding it slightly above the surface for a beautiful presentation.
  5. To give them a Christmas flair, lightly dust the tops with smoked paprika for a hint of red. Sprinkle the finely chopped chives and crumbled turkey bacon over the filling. Finish each egg with a small sprig of fresh dill to provide a vibrant green contrast. Serve immediately or chill until your guests arrive.
